Staff of SHN and Streamline Planning Consultants (SPC) will conduct the required one-day in-class portion of the Qualified Industrial SWPPP Practitioner (QISP) training in Eureka, California, on Thursday, July 28, 2016.  The purpose of the class is to prepare attendees for the QISP final exam, administered by the Sacramento State Office of Water Programs.

Having received our “FAA 333 Exemption” from the Federal Aviation Administration, we are greatly expanding our surveying and geographic information systems (GIS) services.  The Exemption allows us to fly small unmanned aircraft to obtain aerial imagery, and certifies that we operate the unmanned aerial vehicles safely and with full responsibility and accountability for people’s safety and privacy.

Steve will again be a session leader at the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) 2016 No-Dig Show, which will be in Dallas, Texas from March 20 to 24, 2016.  https://www.nastt.org/nd2016  Steve is a member of the program committee and has presented his own work on horizontal directional drilling and other trenchless technologies at this annual conference in 2013 and 2012. 

SHN is pleased to welcome Eric Schneider, PE, who is a senior civil to our Redding office.  Eric was previously employed by a multi-national and publicly traded corporation.  He is excited to be back in Redding working closely with Clients in a small business environment. 

Sheri’s paper and presentation titled, “Sustainability in the Context and Culture of Engineers”, was accepted into the 12th International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic and Social Sustainability, to be held in Portland, Oregon from January 21 to 23, 2016.  http://onsustainability.com/2016-conference.
