Welcome back to another nose-to-the-grindstone semester/quarter!  We salute your extreme work ethic, and your ability to keep focused on the goal of graduating and working to make the world a better place.  Here are some things to think about when you’re waiting for that numeric modeling program to run.

Is poop the latest renewable energy resource, to be included in energy portfolios along with wind, solar, and hydro? A Seattle company has designed a system that uses sewage sludge as an input, and produces clean water, electricity, and ash as outputs.

There is no doubt that high levels of lead were and continue to be present in the drinking water of Flint, Michigan.  What happened?
